Lime Kiln

MAERZ Lime Kiln has many components adding up to a total of 600 tons of steel structure and 53 m (160 ft.) of height. It has a special aluminum paint coating to withstand extreme temperatures.

Acero ATD manufactured the complete kiln, including main shafts, hoppers, discharge valves, discharge tables, ducts, poking doors, platforms, stairs and railings.

Given the complexity of this project, the Kiln required several tests such as: ultrasound for welding seams, pressure and leakage tests, hydraulic tests for valves and the overall geometry was validated using laser measuring tools.
